Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board's Local Eligibility Criteria

Providing job seekers and employees with the quality training needed to fill the most in-demand occupations in our region is a critical part of what we do. To insure the students receive the quality of training needed to guarantee their success, we require training providers to meet certain quality standards. Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board (PTRWDB) uses the following rubric for training providers.

BEFORE YOU APPLY
  1. You must be an approved training provider with the State of North Carolina.
  2. Ensure your program is listed in NCWorks Online.

To register your training program in NCWorks and start the state approval process, please click here.

LOCAL REVIEW PROCESS

  1. Submit your request for local approval.
  2. PTRWDB reviews the training program using established criteria.
  3. A determination is made within approximately two weeks.
  4. Notification is sent via email.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Your training program must meet ALL of following:

  1. Occupation pays at least 70% of the regional median wage.
  2. Occupation shows positive projected growth and provider is not on the SOFL.
  3. Occupation has at least 15 projected annual openings.
  4. Training cost is competitive OR fills a documented gap in the region.

Please note: PTRWDB assesses the needs in our local area. Being approved at the state level does NOT automatically make you an eligible training provider in our local area.
