In March 2025 the PTRC Regional Planning Department and the Stokes County Economic Development and Tourism Department kicked off the Active Stokes Recreation and Parks Comprehensive Plan.
This plan will serve as a long range guide for the development and maintenance of Stokes County's parks and recreational amenities and can be leveraged to help secure funding for future recreational development projects.
As a part of the planning process, PTRC and Stokes County will host a series of meetings to gather input from Stokes County residents and visitors to ensure the final plan meets the wants and needs of the community.
