This page will be updated regularly in response to the partial federal government shutdown.

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council has been notified that the March 2019 Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) have been allocated and will be disbursed. For future payments, if regular allocations are made, payments will continue as normal. If regular allocations cease, we will apply for emergency reserve funds; however, there may be delays.

According to the HAP contract, landlords cannot legally evict tenants for HUD’s non-payment of rent and tenants should continue to make their regular payments. Failure of a tenant to pay their portion of the rent is subject to actions determined by the landlord.  This guideline is included in the Housing Assistance Payments Contract in Part C(5)(d), which can be found on our website.
