Energize Carolinas is one of the largest accredited clean energy training centers in the southeast. Our goal is to promote the growth of a highly trained and certified clean energy workforce. 

PTRC’s Weatherization Training Center is certified as a Building Performance Institute Test Center, and it is also certified by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). The training center offers nationally recognized certifications to those who work in the fields of energy efficiency and building science. PTRC’s training center offers fully customized classes based on the skill sets that program directors and students need the most.

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council is the first agency to provide specific training for weatherization in North Carolina. PTRC has taken these steps and others to ease the burden of quality training for other North Carolina agencies that are more affordable than out of state. This, in return, will lead to the same quality standards across our state in the weatherization field
