On December 3rd and 4th of 2018, the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging held the Remarkable Integration: Human Service and Health Care Partnerships conference.
The conference was specifically timed to provide solutions and opportunities in the midst of North Carolina's quickly changing human services, behavioral health and health care landscape. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and the Creating High-Quality Results and Outcomes Necessary to Improve Chronic Care Act (CHRONIC) have significantly impacted service delivery systems. North Carolina is confronted with the imminent transition from traditional fee-for-service Medicaid to Managed Care, as well as the transformation of the NC Department of Health and Human Services personnel, policies and processes.
