On the 2nd and 3rd of October, seniors and aging network staff from across North Carolina met in Chapel Hill to celebrate 25 years of the North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature (STHL).

Welcome Guido Schutz to the PTRC team! He will be serving with the Planning Department as their Piedmont Legacy Trails AmeriCorps member for the next 10 months with the Conservation Trust for North Carolina.

Across the region, more than 30 community service agencies receive funding through the Home and Community Care Block Grant to provide services to assist older adults to maintain their independence.
The Area Agency on Aging will receive $20,000 in grant funding from NADTC to organize strategic collaborations to identify ways to address gaps in transportation services to older adults after they are released from hospitals and emergency rooms.

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging provides evidence-based health education in the community for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. We rely on volunteers to facilitate the programs to have a wide reach in providing this education in 12 counties.
PTRC is requesting statements of qualifications from experienced environmental consultants to perform a range of services including Environmental Site Assessments; Clean-Up and Redevelopment Planning; and Community Outreach Assistance.
