The Area Agency on Aging is pleased to welcome Christina Peoples as our newest Certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman.  Christina will serve as the Ombudsman for Caswell and Rockingham County Nursing and Adult Care Homes and Adult Care Homes in Davidson County.  Christina has a Master’s Degree in Gerontology and over 7 years of experience in resolution and advocacy in the health insurance field.  In addition, Christina serves as a Board Member for the Creative Aging Network of North Carolina.

The Long-Term Care Ombudsmen are advocates for resident’s rights and are responsible for investigating complaints raised by, or on behalf of, nursing home and adult care home residents. Ombudsmen work with residents, family members, concerned citizens and facilities, as well as public and private agencies, to ensure quality of life and compliance with standards of care for residents in long-term care facilities.
