In Memoriam: Blair Barton-Percival

Post Date:10/04/2019 12:31 PM

It is with great sadness that we mourn Blair Barton-Percival who passed away on October 3, 2019 after a valiant fight with cancer.  Blair has been with the Piedmont Triad Regional Council since 2001, most recently serving as the Director of the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging (PTRC AAA).

In addition to his post at the AAA, Blair was involved in numerous professional endeavors: he was a member of the North Carolina Association of Area Agencies on Aging (nc4a), on the board of the North Carolina Health Information and Communications Alliance, a delegate for North Carolina on the Board of the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging (SE4A), an alternate for Region IV on the Board of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and a board member of the National Association of Social Workers & North Carolina Association of Social Workers on the Political Action for Candidate Election and Legislative Committee.

Blair poured his heart and soul into his work for older adults in the region and we are so thankful for his unflagging efforts. Few could match Blair’s devotion to his family, his friends, and his work. Blair was above all, a consummate humanitarian.

Blair, we will remember you for always being positive, upbeat, thoughtful, and determined.  And, of course, we won’t forget your love of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  We will miss you.
