Risk of a Rural Census Undercount

Post Date:07/31/2019 2:14 PM

A new reliance on on-line Census completion could dramatically impact participation rates, particularly in rural and impoverished areas.  Many areas within the Piedmont Triad, especially rural areas, have significant broadband deficits. American Community Survey data suggests that almost half of households in Montgomery, Caswell, Surry, Yadkin, and Stokes County either don't have a computer or don't have access to internet service in their home.
