Community Advisory Committee Volunteers Receive Awards

The Alamance County Board of Commissioners awarded the “Citizen  Volunteer of the Year” and honored other volunteers for their service at a luncheon held on Thursday June 21, 2018. Chair Amy Goley presented the top ward to Earl Pickett, Social Services Board Member. He was among eight finalist for the award which was chosen by the county commissioners.

Foxie Harper and Gail Miller both received the Citizen Volunteer of the Year Finalist award. Foxie Harper serves as a volunteer on the Regional Advisory Council on Aging, the Senior Tarheels, the Alamance Planning Committee, and the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. Gail Miller serves as a volunteer on The Planning Committee, the Nursing home Community Advisory Committee and the Regional Advisory Council on Aging.

Rena Bennett and Wilma Gadison were awarded Honorable Mention for their volunteer work, and both serve on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee.
